“A garden takes time. Anticipation starts now. 🌿✨
On October 31, the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden reopens, reimagined by Hiroshi Sugimoto. Expect more art, more ways in, and more room for the free artist talks, performances, tours, artmaking and a-ha moments you already love.
From iconic works by Rodin, Matisse, Moore, Hepworth, and Giacometti to contemporary voices like Raven Halfmoon, KAWS, and Izumi Kato, the Garden invites you to see modern and contemporary art from a fresh perspective.
We’re also starting a new tradition: dedicated exhibitions, beginning with “Yoshitomo Nara: Sentinels of Stillness” (October 31, 2026-November 7, 2027) which will inaugurate our West Lawn.
And the passageway returns. Which means our Garden, Museum, and all of us are reconnecting. 💚
