World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is observed globally on June 15, 2026. Established by the United Nations, this day serves as a critical call to action to highlight the social, physical, financial, and psychological abuse of older adults and to promote community-driven prevention efforts

United Nations Headquarters (New York): The UN will host a special WEAAD event on June 11, 2026, focused on the theme “Beyond Awareness: Making Elder Abuse Prevention Work.”
State & Local Conferences: Many regions in the U.S. host specialized conferences. For example, Arizona holds a statewide conference on June 15 at the Desert Willow Conference Center, while the Ohio Attorney General’s Elder Abuse Commission holds its event in Columbus on June 29.
National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA): The NCEA provides a comprehensive WEAAD Toolkit containing fact sheets, social media graphics, and press releases for community organizations
