“The Great Brookland Yard Sale returns on Saturday, June 6, 2026, transforming Brookland, a neighborhood in Northeast DC, into one giant neighborhood-wide treasure hunt featuring more than 150 participating homes.
From vintage finds and furniture to toys and baby goods, vinyl records, art, books, collectibles, and unexpected oddities, the annual event draws visitors from across the DMV to explore blocks of sales throughout the neighborhood.
But organizers say the event has become much more than a traditional yard sale.
“People tell us it’s their favorite day of the year,” said organizers from the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association (BNCA), the sponsoring organization. “It’s part treasure hunt, part community festival, and part neighborhood adventure.”
This year’s event will feature:
150+ participating households
An interactive neighborhood map (to be posted June 2)
A community “passport” game with hidden keywords and prizes
Door prizes for the first 50 shoppers to visit Yard Sale Central at 12th and Newton, NE
Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, and explore the neighborhood while discovering hidden gems and meeting neighbors along the way.
