HouseMouse Books and Vintage is excited to announce the debut of Escape the Bookshop III, our new limited-run escape room experience. We look forward to hosting the game in our new and spacious location within Laurel Leaf right in the heart of Mainstreet Takoma.
Escape the Bookshop III is a group puzzle game that is based on a real crime that took place around 100 years ago with connections to Takoma Park. It is designed and created by HouseMouse to be played in our atmospheric bookshop. This is a unique escape room experience and makes for a memorable evening out with friends or family!
Bookings are now open for game dates in September 2025 through March 2026. The game takes place most Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM but special arrangements can be made upon request via email at [email protected].
It is designed to be played by a group of 3 to 8 people (ages 16+), lasts for one hour, and costs $200 per group. No prior escape room experience is needed. To book the game, visit the Laurel Leaf website. Gift certificates are also available on the booking page.
HouseMouse is a small used bookshop located in the heart of Takoma Park, MD at 6919 Laurel Ave. It resides within Laurel Leaf – a plants, books, and vintage furniture and decor shop that opened in March 2025. Regular store hours are: Tuesday-Thursday: 11 AM- 6 PM, Friday-Saturday: 11 AM – 7 PM, and Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM.
