The Potomac Roasting Company is stocked with excellent coffee to meet almost any palate. We offer a growing selection of coffees, monthly subscriptions, and free shipping for orders over $35.
We are a local micro-roaster that precision roasts high-quality beans sourced from small farms in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Most of the coffee we source is grown and produced by women.
We are sharing our passion for discovering great coffee from around the world by adding two new coffees.
Our new Krakatoa roast comes from Aceh, Sumatra in Indonesia. It’s no average Joe. The unique growing conditions and local processing give Sumatra coffee a rare combination of low acidity and rich, earthy flavors. Our full-body Krakatoa roast features flavor notes of chocolate, grapefruit zest, and herbs.
We’ve also responded to requests for a decaffeinated coffee with “Beijo Da Manha (Morning Kiss) from Cerrado, Brazil. The Swiss Water decaffeination process is 100% organic. Using glacial melt waters from British Columbia rather than harsh chemical solvents used in other processes is healthier and preserves the bean’s distinctive chocolate and Brazil nut flavors.
While we have sold out of some coffees, we have fresh roasts from Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Guatemala.
Potomac Roasting Company gives back to the community by donating a portion of proceeds to Laila’s Legacy, a DC-based nonprofit that finds homes for homeless dogs and cats. Check us out now for better coffee and good karma in a cup.
