Got leftover paint that you no longer need? Recycle it! PaintCare is hosting a free and convenient leftover paint drop-off and giveaway event at Ida B. Wells Middle School (405 Sheridan St NW, Washington, D.C. 20011) on August 10th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Households may bring any amount of house paint or primer, stain, or clear finishes. Paint must be in a sealed container with the original manufacturer label. We cannot accept aerosol coatings, solvents, or other hazardous waste. Businesses who wish to drop-off paint must qualify as exempt generator under federal and any analogous state hazardous waste generator rules.
Leftover paint in good condition that is dropped off at this event will be made immediately available to the public for free. Color options and volumes are not guaranteed, and paint is provided as-is.
Registration is required and space is limited. If you are unable to make this event, household and businesses can drop-off paint at any of the 7 year-round drop-off sites in D.C. Find a drop-off site near you by visiting paintcare.org.
