Updated with a comment from Lime:

“We do not tolerate the use of our vehicles to commit crimes and stand prepared to support MPD in any investigation into these alleged incidents. Would-be criminals in DC should understand that if they use a GPS-enabled Lime vehicle to break the law, MPD can subpoena this information in their investigations.” – Erika Duthely, Regional Head of Government Relations.

“Dear PoPville,

Huge police presence on the Harris Teeter side of NoMa right now (Thursday evening, just before 9pm.) Saw at least a dozen FBI officers and multiple police vehicles, and someone was getting chased by cops while I was walking my dog with more on bikes. MPD trying to barricade M and Patterson it seems.

Also saw a several police vans pull up M and go into the Ava early the other morning.”

From MPD:

“On Thursday, October 1, 2026, at approximately 8:37 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to the 1300 block of 2nd Street, Northeast, for the report of a robbery. The suspect snatched property from the victim and then fled the scene on a Lime bike. The preliminary description of the suspect is a black male, skinny build, dreadlocks, wearing all dark clothing and carrying a multi-color backpack. Anyone with information is urged to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”
