Having been a long-time follower (with the ‘Before Sunrise/Sunset’ fan in me always rooting for strangers longing to remedy their missed connections), I regret that I too find myself ruing a forlorn encounter.
We both got on the Metro shuttle bus at Bethesda through Friendship Heights on Saturday, July 11th around 2pm. You were
the elegant woman wearing a white shirt, black pants and a helmet with an electric bicycle. You took a phone call and (I believe) were speaking French. I was the late 30s bearded man wearing a turquoise shirt who was in a rush to pick up a few ingredients from the market before my bread dough finished rising.
Hoping that you will give me a second chance to say hello. “Je caressais le temps, et jouais de la vie, Comme on joue de l’amour…Mais j’ai perdu mon temps à faire des folies…Car mes amours sont mortes, avant que d’exister…Où sont-ils à présent…?”
