I stopped by the new Streets Market at 15th and Pennsylvania Ave SE … Employees are in there now stocking shelves, etc.
They tell me they are opening
May 1, with an earlier soft opening possible.
It’s great news for my neighborhood. It’s definitely one of the best things to happen on this corner in my almost 25 years here.
The McCormick’s Paint store that used to be in the space where Streets Market is going wasn’t a problem by any means, but it didn’t really add much to the neighborhood. It seemed to be there mostly for contractors, and if I’m remembering right, it wasn’t even open on weekends.
Where this building is now was a KFC with a small parking lot when we first moved in, back in 2002.”
