“Hall Pass: Beer Hall & Sports Bar is a limited-time popup concept opening on March 19, 2026 in the heart of Chinatown, just steps from Capital One Arena. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, the space delivers a social beer hall experience built for big games, pre-game crowds, and neighborhood hangs.

Designed as a modern take on the classic beer hall, Hall Pass blends communal seating, high-definition screens throughout the venue, and a high-energy sports parlor atmosphere. The result is a destination made for watching the game, while staying fueled with great beer and food built to share.

Beer & Cocktail Program

At the bar, Hall Pass features 16 rotating draft lines pouring a curated mix of German beer hall classics, local craft favorites, and easy-drinking crowd-pleasers designed for long game days. Standout selections include Radeberger Pilsner, a crisp, classic German pour with a sharp, refreshing hop finish; Paulaner Munich Hell, a balanced lager with soft malt sweetness; and Tucher Hefeweizen, a traditional Bavarian wheat beer with notes of banana and clove. For those who prefer something darker or hop-forward, Hacker-Pschorr Dunkel offers toasted bread and caramel malt richness, while Solace Partly Cloudy and Evolution Lot No. 3 IPA deliver bright citrus and bold bitterness. The draft lineup will rotate regularly, ensuring something familiar alongside new selections for repeat visits.

While beer anchors the experience, the cocktail program brings equal energy. The Hall Pass Margarita combines tequila with house-made passion fruit syrup infused with rosemary and Indian long pepper, balanced by fresh lime and a touch of pomegranate. The Honey Deuce delivers a refreshing mix of vodka, lemonade, raspberry liqueur, and honeydew, while the Espresso Martini offers a rich coffee base with caramel liqueur and choice of spirit.

Food Program

Food is at the heart of the concept, with a proudly pretzel-focused menu featuring dough baked fresh daily in partnership with Das Pretzel Haus. From 1- and 2-pound soft pretzels served with bier cheese and house mustard to smothered variations like Buffalo Chicken or Spinach Artichoke, the menu leans playful and built for sharing. Starters include Jumbo Tater Tots infused with jalapeño cream cheese, Loaded Wedge Fries, and crispy pickle-brined Chicken Tenders, while all handhelds are served on house pretzel bread.

The standout is the Hall Pass Chopped Cheese, the Hall Pass take on the iconic NYC bodega classic and something unique to DC. Made with a signature blend (brisket, short rib, and chuck), chopped with grilled onions and pickles, mixed with a house cheese blend (smoked gouda, smoked cheddar, raclette), drizzled with a bier cheese wiz and mayo on a warm pretzel hoagie roll, it’s the ultimate game-day sandwich. Additional highlights include a Double Smashburger with a Raclette cheese bend and bacon jam on a pretzel bun, a Footlong Hot Dog, Chicken Caesar Sandwich, and a dessert pretzel finished with chocolate and cinnamon, with specialty cocktails and signature game-day drinks to follow.

Intentionally temporary, Hall Pass is designed to feel fresh, fun, and high-energy while it lasts. The popup will be open for major sporting events, private watch parties, and weekend social gatherings, offering a flexible, high-impact space for fans and groups alike.

Hall Pass is a collaborative popup concept brought to life by the teams behind Sauf Haus and Clarendon Ballroom, partnering to activate a prime Chinatown location with a bold, sports-driven concept.”
