Not sure if most DC neighbors are aware of this, so wanted to see if there’s a good way to make people aware.
I was stunned when I saw Pepco’s letter explaining why we were experiencing higher electricity bills this winter. Their explanation was basically… it’s cold.
I wanted to make sure readers were aware that
Pepco rates have risen roughly 50% from last year. I track all the aspects of my Pepco bill monthly, and when comparing what I pay today for a kilowatt hour of electricity is around 50% more than I paid last year. There are many factors in this overall prices, but if people don’t want to look at all of them, just compare the energy generation charges. I assume we’re all paying the same thing, so if I’m wrong about that then just ignore me. I just want people to know… Pepco is making a lot more money this year from us than last year.
