I attended the funeral for the penny on Saturday the 20th. My friends and I were standing over to the side closest to the Vietnam Memorial. A woman walked up to her friend (who was standing next to me) and joined us up on the wall to get a better view.
She had brownish/reddish hair, was dressed in all black (well, we all were), and had a pro-choice button clipped to her purse. I was the guy wearing a long black overcoat, dotted black tie, sunglasses, and the gold tie clip. I gave her one of my pennies, and I should have asked her out, but I was too busy trying to throw my penny in the casket.
Would love to take you out for a drink, and perhaps a show at Ford’s Theatre (too soon?)”
