Gnomes Around Shaw = Free Stuff From Sugar Shack Donuts

Dear PoPville readers:

Why aren’t there more gnomes and goats roaming around Shaw? Since we opened our doors a few weeks ago on 9th Street near Nellie’s we’ve noticed that there is a real dearth of gnomes and goats. So we put our donut masters to work to solve this pressing concern.

We love the reception our fresh, store-made donuts and coffee have received. In addition, the excitement for our new, hidden bar, Nocturne, has been amazing.

We picked Shaw for a simple reason. We are strong believers in community and want our hand-made donuts to not just make folks happy, but to also strengthen the community by helping out local causes and group and generally bringing people together. Different types of fried dough brings people together in just about every culture around the world. A good donut should be something you can share with others. Not some frozen or shipped in thing. It should be fresh and from your community. It should help you meet new people. Handing out donuts to people is a pretty great way to make people smile.

Oh right, back to the goats and gnomes. We are inviting you to participate in a little scavenger hunt that runs October 1-31. All around our neighborhood we are hiding little gnomes and goats. If you find one, bring it to us and you’ll get free stuff. It’s that easy and a good way to meet people and enjoy some time outside. You can follow us on Facebook (@SugarShackShaw) or Twitter and Instagram (@SugarShackDMV).

Thanks, and happy hunting.

P.S. This is an advertisement, but if you bring it in our Shaw store this week (print it out or pull it up on your phone), we’ll give you a free house donut, as long as we don’t run out. Only one per person so we can spread the donut goodness.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
