Shawarma Spot Opens on 18th Street. Let’s Have A Shawarma Taste Off

Shawarma Spot has opened up at 2418 18th Street in Adams Morgan. So within two weeks time we’ve had two new shawarma spaces open up in Adams Morgan. Last week I wrote about Shawarma King opening up on Columbia Road. So I have a bit of a problem. I’m a huge fan of Shawarma King on Columbia Road but I want to be fair to Shawarma Spot on 18th Street, so I’m proposing a shawarma taste off. I can’t participate because the owners know me and I don’t want any special treatment. So this is where I need some volunteers. I need some folks who love shawarma to volunteer to choose a weekend and on a Sat. go to one place and on Sunday go to the other. I’ll report on your findings. Any takers? Free Pop T-shirts for the first three volunteers.

I’ve already been to Shawarma King and am happy to check out Shwarma Spot this weekend and give you a full report on findings, if you’d like. But I understand if you want the shawarma experiences to be closer together.

  • Prince Of Petworth

Jeanie, your report would be great. Thanks!

  • Lee

I volunteer! I can go this weekend or early next week.

  • Prince Of Petworth

Lee if you could go this weekend, that’d be great. Thanks.

adams morgan has enough schwarma. what they need is a trader joe’s

  • Anonymous

Two years opening their first Trader Joe’s in DC, it is unfortunate that there are no evident signs that there will be more. Supposingly, they were going to open a location in the Union Row on 14th Street, but there was an issue with parking.

  • Evan

Sounds good! How do I get involved? Shawarma is simply the best way to slow cook meat. NOTHING beats it.

  • Prince Of Petworth

Evan, to get involved simply visit Shawarma Spot and Shawarma King and email me a brief report about which you liked better.
