MPD “investigating a shooting inside of a building” in Columbia Heights around 12:45am Sunday

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting inside of a building in the 3000 block of 14th street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. This incident is alleged to have taken place inside of a building. Officers and detectives are on scene and are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

Shots Fired at 9th and U Street, NW around 8:45pm Saturday Night

“shooting on the corner of 9th and U right now – right in front of Nellie’s. Don’t know what happened but there’s a body in the street.”

“Yes, in front of the Brixton. I heard 5 shots at 8:45 pm.”

Update from MPD:

“Members of the Third District have responded to the area of Florida and U Street NW in reference to the sounds of gunshots. We have recovered shell casings in the area and a vehicle which has bullet damage to it. However, we have NOT located any shooting victims or individuals reporting that they were shot at. Officers and detectives on the scene continue to investigate.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

“Anonymous tip leads to arrest of man with gun on Metro”

“Metro Transit Police today [Thursday] arrested Issa Conteh, 39, of Alexandria, on weapons charges following an anonymous tip from a Metro rider at Anacostia Station.

The Metro customer called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. to report that she observed a man in possession of a gun. DC 911 transferred the call to Metro Transit Police dispatchers, who obtained a description from the caller and broadcast a flash lookout to officers. (more…)
