“Dear PoPville,
I know this is a bit of an odd question but any idea where I could rehome house plants? I don’t want to just throw them out. We’ve accumulated too many and are looking to get rid of a few to open up some space in the house.”

“Dear PoPville,
I’m currently in the midst of a nightmare scenario with a three-story popup condo (I know, I know…lesson truly learned) I bought about 3 years ago. About a year ago, my downstairs neighbor and I started experiencing all kinds of issues with water leaking through the roof and siding from both the left and right sides of condo. We had a number of roofers come out and $30,000 later, had them reseal the roof and re-side the left side of the pop up. The problem is that to finish the job, we need to re-side the right side, which will require access to my neighbor’s roof (her townhouse is 2 stories). (more…)

Memorial Day weekend is here, and DC’s housing market isn’t taking the holiday off — there are 170 open houses across the city this weekend. Whether you’re firing up the grill or squeezing in a little house-hunting between cookouts, it’s a perfect stretch of days to wander through some new listings. 715 Euclid Street, NW
“Dear PoPville,
To all the readers, does anyone know what’s up with Maggie’s Hot Dogs on Euclid St. NW? I live right there and I swear they were open at the oddest times (not during breakfast times even though they sell coffee) and it now says it’s closed. I don’t think I have ever seen it open.”

Thanks to zeezy for sending: “might be of interest to concert-frequenters. It appears a Live Nation storefront is opening on 7th St NW and New York Avenue. Tried Googling but could not find anymore info though.”
The DC Chamber Musicians close out the 25-26 season with popular works by Brahms and Dohnanyi, and three selections of newer works that are sure to delight. All set in the lovely St. Thomas’ Parish Episcopal Church in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Join us afterward for a reception featuring light refreshments (including beer and wine) and an opportunity to chat with the musicians.

Art D. dropping the knowledge: “Starlings. It’s called a “murmuration”. They do this to get food and/or evade predators.”

Yesterday readers noticed that Soho Tea & Coffee’s windows had been papered over, but like the Larry’s Lounge debacle – all is well! Soho Tea & Coffee now posts on their Facebook:
“Dear customers,
Happy Thanksgiving. May the warm glow of autumn surround you as you celebrate the holiday with family & friends.
Soho is closed during the holiday week.
Painting and changing the furniture.”
