“One of America’s Two Great Counties”

hahaha thanks to Beau for sending:

“I think we need to talk about Charles County, or at least their motto.

Is it passive aggressive? Is it designed so wherever the sign reader is from, they can pretend their county is the other great county?

This is at the Maryland end of the Nice bridge.”

Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

does anyone know where can I recycle/responsibly dispose of old clothes and textiles that are no longer in a wearable/usable condition?

I know H&M does a recycling program, however, I don’t have a car, and after I do a large purge, I’\ll end up with multiple garbage bags of stuff that has essentially become rags. So, not ideal to hop into an Uber and dump them at H&M. I was just curious if anyone knew of any other organizations who offer textile recycling, espeicaly if any offer pick up services. Right now I’ve got a pile of stuff shoved in a corner of my apt because I would really like to avoid just throwing it all in the trash and letting it go straight into the landfill. (more…)

Crime

“Dear PoPville,

The car in this picture was outside the CVS on Calvert. We did manage to find these owners and gave them our info. They filed a police report eventually.

It was very frustrating to see. The police response was certainly underwhelming as well. We saw 3-4 taggings, I was also able to tell the Police exactly where the kids were headed. The police were disinterested or, more likely, focused elsewhere. My wife and I swung by the top of 18th and sure enough, the kids were sitting there and no police in sight. Apparently the boundary line is right around there which added to the complexity of “who responds to this call.” They also “can’t do anything” until the property owner files a report. Not helpful.”
