Poetry Workshop: “Of Wild Trees and Lightning: The Poetics of Bewilderment”

In this generative poetry workshop, led by Malik Thompson, participants can relinquish common orientations toward poem writing and sink, unabashedly, into their haunts and dreams. Malik Thompson is the former co-chair of OutWrite DC, an annual LGBTQ+ festival, and bookstore manager for Black, queer-owned Loyalty Bookstores.

For a six-month period beginning in January, the Arts Club is host to five LGBTQ+ Poets-in-Residence. This is the second in a series of monthly in-person classes that allow the public to focus on an aspect of poetic inspiration. No prior poetry experience required. Limited to 20 participants.
