Northeast Library’s Garden Concert Series: Callithump

Northeast Neighborhood Library
330 7th St NE
Washington, D.C. 20002

Join us for an afternoon of music in the beautiful garden area beside Northeast Library. Bring a chair, sit back and enjoy the sounds of Callithump.

Callithump (noun: a boisterous band or parade) is a folk duo based in Takoma Park, MD specializing in traditional and original folk songs from the British Isles, with their own unique grooves and incredible energy that’s sure to get your feet stomping. Glyn Collinson (lead vocals, bouzouki) hails from a long line of folk singers in Britain; his great-grandfather was recorded on wax cylinders. Andrew Marcus (accordion, backing vocals) has played for over 15 years with local and touring contra dance bands. Andrew and Glyn also play together in Frog Hammer, the Washington region’s premier English Ceilidh dance band, with whom they have performed at the Kennedy Center.

This concert will close out the 2018 season of the Northeast Library’s Garden Concert Series. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Northeast Library.

Please note: In the event of inclement weather, concerts are held inside the library.
