Wikipedia is an openly editable resource, meaning that you can improve the quality and accuracy of Wikipedia entries. As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many individuals looking to learn about art, artists and art history.

Attendees will learn the basics of editing Wikipedia by improving articles about faculty and alumni of the historic Art Students League of New York, an art school whose students included Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock and Roy Lichtenstein.

Librarians from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery will provide access to an archive of reference material that was recently donated by the Art Students League of New York.

Lunch will be provided.
