“Dear PoPville,

I was wondering if any readers have some information about the “house” on the hill above the Dalecarlia Reservoir/Washington Aqueduct. It’s tucked behind Sibley hospital all by itself on a steep hill overlooking MacArthur Blvd and the reservoir. While built to resemble a home, I’m guessing it’s purpose had to do with the reservoir. Whoa, Dan Herrera posted to the Capital Naturalist Facebook Group on Friday:

“This bobcat was observed at the C&O Canal in DC! iNaturalist doesn’t show any observations in the area, and the last documented bobcat in the district appears to have escaped (but is now returned) from the zoo. So this is quite the find!

North of Georgetown – closer to the Palisades neighborhood”

Ed. Note: Although, it does look a little bit like Cookie

Previously this was home to the glass forest that was sadly vandalized back in 2013 in Palisades park. Thanks to James for sending: “It’s a participatory art space – the originator of the “exhibit” would probably be delighted if others contributed. It’s adjacent to the Palisades Spray Park – you’ll see two picnic tables at the path that leads to the “art exhibits.” People can be very creative with broken mirrors and bicycle parts. And now with bras.”

From a press release:

“Lahlou Restaurant Group, which owns and operates Lupo Verde, Station 4 and Tunnicliff’s Tavern, is pleased to announce a second location of their popular Italian concept, Lupo Verde Osteria, which is scheduled to open April 18th. The intimate 95-seat restaurant, which translates to “green wolf”, will serve authentic, rustic, Italian fare in the residential Palisades area at 4814 MacArthur Blvd, NW. Med Lahlou, a resident of the Palisades for the last decade, purchased the 3,200-square-foot, restored, brick three-story building so that he could bring his popular Italian restaurant to his friends and family in his own neighborhood. The restaurant will open with dinner service with brunch and a first floor boutique Italian market to be added at a later date.

Corporate Chef Matteo Venini will oversee the Lupo Verde Osteria menu which will be similar to its sister restaurant at 1401 T Street, NW. Venini will continue to oversee the menu at Lupo Verde on 14th Street, as well as Lupo Marino, which is scheduled to open in early May within The Wharf development in the Southwest Waterfront.
