“Dear PoPville,

Please be aware that there have been two broad-daylight break-ins in Brightwood and Crestwood within the past several days. In both cases homes were entered while someone was in the home. On Sunday on Underwood St in Brightwood around 10:30 AM a suspect climbed on top of an AC unit to enter through an 8′ high open window with a screen. On Tuesday around 2:30 PM on 18th St in Crestwood a suspect entered through an unlocked door. Read More

vehicle stolen during a Burglary One While Armed via MPD

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle stolen during a Burglary One While Armed offense which occurred in the 1800 block of Upshur Street, Northwest, on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at approximately 10:38 pm.

Two suspects, armed with handguns, forced their way into a residence and held the occupants at gunpoint. One victim received minor injuries. The suspects stole a laptop and a black-colored 2004 Volkswagen Jetta wagon with DC tags CR1373. The vehicle in the photo is the actual vehicle. The vehicle has a bike rack attached to the rear of the vehicle as well as distinctive stickers on the rear bumper and lift gate.

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division seeks the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two persons of interest, and a vehicle of interest in connection with an incident that occurred in the 3900 block of Argyle Terrace, Northwest.

On Monday, April 18, 2016, at approximately 7:00 pm, two subjects approached a female child in a white vehicle. The driver of the vehicle offered the child candy, and attempted to lure the child into the vehicle.

The vehicle of interest is described as being either a white sedan or a small white SUV.

One of the subjects is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 70-years-old, with grey short hair, green eyes, and a tattoo in the shape of a beetle on the back of his neck. The other subject is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 60-years-old, with white hair and a nose ring. Both individuals are described as having an accent.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”
