“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, in the 2600 block of 12th Place, Southeast.

At approximately 7:03 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 15 year-old Jamarid Robinson, of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in the 1000 block of 13th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 9:27 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life and the victim was pronounced dead. The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Members located an additional adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The surviving victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Read More

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced two monumental agreements to improve health care and address inequalities in health outcomes for District residents. The agreements include the construction of two new, state-of-the-art hospitals:

a 136-bed hospital at St. Elizabeths East in Ward 8, operated by Universal Health Services in conjunction with George Washington University and George Washington Medical Faculty Associates (GWMFA); and
a 225-bed Howard University Hospital on Georgia Avenue NW in Ward 1.

Both hospitals will build upon their existing and new networks of care to deliver fully integrated systems of care, offering the best in clinical integration. Read More

“On Wednesday, May 8, Chipotle Mexican Grill, known for its real ingredients and fresh food, will open its first restaurant east of the Anacostia River. Plus, the first 50 customers will receive Chipotle swag!

The new restaurant is located in the Shops at Park Village at the intersection of Alabama Ave SE and Stanton Rd SE (1571 Alabama Ave SE). Normal hours of operation will be 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week.
