Avi tells us: “not sure if you already know this, but just confirmed with some Federalist Pig staff that they’re expanding next door. The guy I spoke to said they’re moving forward with it, but didn’t have an exact timeline yet. Seems like our rib tip dreams are coming true.”

Back when Cricket closed next door in October, a reader wrote: “Perhaps an expansion is in their future?” I was skeptical but shared the famous James Allen quote – “Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” Indeed. (more…)

Thanks to Jenna (and all) who sent word about Ramenville Adams Morgan getting a new Ramen shop. Isshin Ramen just opened in October and now has more company (not to mention the relatively old school Sakuramen (and don’t forget soba noodles and lots more are coming down the block too.) Akira Ramen & Izakaya has soft opened (already?) in the former North Sea space, which closed over the summer. You can see a menu for the Rockville location of Akira Ramen & Izakaya restaurant here.



916 G Street, NW

The liquor license placard for Urban Roast says:

“New Retailer’s Class “C” Tavern serving prepared sandwiches, salads, soups, and fruits. Applicant is applying for a Sidewalk Cafe Endorsement with 20 seats. Total seating inside is 75with a Total Occupancy Load of 120.”

Ed. Note: Presumably they’ll also have coffee.

13th and G Street, NW

This is the old Johnston & Murphy space across from Metro Center that we first heard about back in July.

They’ve now applied for an outdoor cafe permit. Good news come springtime. Stay tuned for an exact opening date!

This will be their 4th D.C. location, with Logan Circle being their 5th. Update when we get an exact opening date.
