“Dear PoPville,

Saw this sign in the door of Chicken + Whiskey today. Have you heard anything?”

I’m happy to report that Chicken + Whiskey is doing very well – this signage is for the space upstairs. As for the Dacha coming to the parking lot next door – I have no idea. Maybe since Navy Yard opened they’ll now focus attention here? Anyone know hear anything?

From PETA:

“Since spotting her in the area, PETA staffers have been visiting Henrietta, as they named her, near her nesting tree each morning with bags of chicken feed–and just today, they flew into motion and managed to catch her while she was fast asleep in her nest, possibly after a hard night of dealing with wind and rain. Now, we’re happy to report that Henrietta has been whisked to a safe haven at the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Maryland, where she’ll have friends, space to roam, and all the chicken feed that her heart desires. I’m sitting on about 40 new Turkey around Town photos and I had to scrap the update because now we’ve got a CHICKEN in Dupont Circle.

1. What the hell is happening?
2. I love this so much.
3. Godspeed little guy, Godspeed.

Thanks to Kate for sending from 16th and Q Street, NW.

Update: Thanks to Dean for sending a closeup from 16th Street.

“Dear PoPville,

Tuesday evening (3/27) around 8:30pm, I was walking NW on Adams Mill Road toward the zoo, on the west side of the street. I noticed four young men come out of Walter Pierce Park behind me and follow me. Since it was not particularly late, I wasn’t concerned at first, but looking back, I noticed that they all wore parka hoodies and had the hoods pulled up over their heads, and they weren’t speaking. The street was getting darker as I walked down the hill past Ontario Road, and I decided against putting my earbuds in so I could focus on what was happening behind me, as it appeared they were walking quickly, catching up to me.
