From an email:

Deadline for letters to be signed and returned is Tuesday, April 11 evening (i.e. tomorrow). This is not just for Tricia, whom we lost tragically and brutally, but also for the Public Safety of the DC community, so that such a thing never happens again.

Hello,
Just a reminder (if you have not already) to send your letter in memory of the tragic loss of our beloved friend and Bloomingdale resident
Tricia McCauley.
(and please pass this email along to friends and other DC residents, and/or share on Social Media) (more…)

“Boundary Stone (116 Rhode Island Ave, NW) is hosting a benefit for Common Good City Farm beginning Thursday in memory of Bloomingdale resident Tricia McCauley. In addition to charitable contributions to the cause from both 3 Stars Brewing and DC Brau (a rotation of DC Brau and 3-Stars on the “Common Good” Tap, with all proceeds going to support the farm), Atlas Brew Works will debut “Isla De Encanta” – a beer brewed in her honor and especially for this event. All proceeds will go to Common Good City Farm in Bloomingdale, a non-profit organization where Tricia honed her skills as an herbalist.

Common Good will also be dedicating a memorial herb garden at their location on Sat, April 15th at 11AM.”

“Dear PoPville,

I am expecting my first kid and just found out my OB/GYN is leaving. I was hoping I could get some recommendations from Popville re: obstetricians in the area? What about pediatricians? I would especially love to know if anyone has gone through Kaiser Permanente for pediatric care. Thanks!”

“Dear PoP,

I live in one of those lovely big non-refurbished homes in Park View. You know the ones. Where the same nice old lady lived since 1953? Still has the old push-button light switches and modern amenities were added, piecemeal, over the decades? I love everything about my house.

Except the fact that it might burst into flames at any moment…

We’ve lived there happily for a while, but we are now making the place ready for renters as we move overseas. Clearly, the electricity issue must be dealt with before we go. We’ve called a couple of folks, here and there, for smaller jobs, but have not found anyone who seems both competent and trustworthy.

Does anyone out in PoPVille have a strong love for their electrician?”

A reader writes: “My wife and I are Park View/Petworth residents who are expecting our first baby in February.  We are hoping you might ask your readers to recommend a good pediatrician in or near Park View, Petworth, Columbia Heights, Mount Pleasant, or Adams Morgan. My wife and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield as our insurance.  Ideal would be a recommendation of someone at or nearby Children’s National Medical Center (“Children’s Hospital”) off Michigan Avenue. “
