From Sweet Science:

“As you know, in February of 2016 Sweet Science partnered with La Pop, providing hopefully awesome coffee in a gorgeous underground space in Adams Morgan.

I feel blessed to have met many supportive and wonderful coffee people in Adams Morgan and at La Pop. But now, after three years in the U.S. and two partnership/pop up locations, I am ready to reach for a bigger dream, a Sweet Science Coffee stand alone location. (more…)

From an email:

“Sweet Science Coffee is closing its storefront in Adams Morgan

Almost a year after starting to brew craft coffee by hand, Sweet Science Coffee is closing down this Saturday, Febuary 6th.

“We had the hope to make our tiny space a permanent spot, it didn’t work out”, says owner Sandra Wolter. Since the shop has earned a loyal following and great reviews by coffee enthusiats, she is looking for a new location and will continue her coffee classes, events and travel in the meantime.

To say thank you, Sandra and her team will be having a pop-down event this
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6th.

All drinks will be sold on a “pay as you wish” basis as long as supplies last.

Please check their website for updates and bookings in the coming weeks.”

From an email:

“I am pleased to announce the release of the Washington, D.C. Indie Coffee Passport on December 1st.

The Indie Coffee Passport gives customers the opportunity to discover Washington, D.C.’s independent coffee culture drink-by-drink, neighborhood-by-neighborhood. The Passport gives customers one free drink at DC’s best and hippest cafes. The Indie Coffee Passport hopes to encourage Washington residents to step outside of their regular coffee routine and explore the burgeoning coffee scene in our city.

There are 17 stops on the Washington DC Indie Coffee Passport: three Peregrine Espresso locations, Ebenezers Coffeehouse, Chinatown Coffee, M.E. Swing Company, two Pleasant Pops locations, BakeHouse, The Blind Dog Café, Sweet Science Coffee, The Potter’s House, Flying Fish Coffee and Tea, Harrar Coffee and Roastery, Qualia Coffee as well as Java Shack in Arlington, Virginia and Bump and Grind in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The $20 Passport runs from December 1st to June 31st; passport holders can visit each café and pick one of the 4-7 drinks each café has picked out for passport holders. These drinks range from a shot of espresso, to a honey lavender latte, and many other exciting options. Each café also offers a tea option for those who don’t drink coffee.”

From Sweet Science Coffee:

“Need an extra shot? Try a shot of Whisky-Coffee! We are proud to introduce Whisky-Whisper by District Roasters from Tomball, TX for a limited time and as a DC exclusive at Sweet Science.

This outstanding roast is created by taking sweet, full bodied beans from Papua New Guinea, aging them in Tennessee sourced JD-oak barrels, and hand roasting them in small batches to bring out the Whisky flavor.

We will serve this Coffee as a delicious Cocktail in our Starsign-Series from July 23rd til August 22nd.

We will also run Whisky-Coffee in our slow dripper to create a truly amazing Cold Brew which will be served in a limited quantity in addition to our house Cold Brew Sweet Saxon.

September 13th will be our Grand Opening / Adams Morgan Day
We will also be starting Sweet Science Salons, a series of intimate evening events featuring Literature readings, Music and Film with Coffee-Drinks and small plates.”
