A preemptive answer to why is there so much traffic and/or such a heavy police presence at the Convention Center.

Last year’s finalist by ‘Welcome to PeePville’ By Sam and Shelley
You can see all of last year’s finalists here.
All entries should be emailed to [email protected] with ‘The PoP Peep Project’ in the subject line. Please include a brief description about your entry and please include 2 photos, one closeup and one capturing the whole scene. Entries should be based on local topics of interest if possible and sent by Friday, April 28th. Depending on how many I receive, I’ll try to post all as I get them. I will then pick 5-10 finalists that you guys will vote on. I will take the winners out to a group dinner. Good luck!!
Nothing to see here, move along!!
Thanks to Kelly for sending this brilliant shot from Columbia Heights.
Or a chicken, what the hell do I know? The important thing is that Genevieve spotted this beauty in the alley in between the 1300 block of Quincy and Randolph Street, NW. Anyone happen to know who he belongs to?
It had been six weeks since our last chicken sighting.
If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.
Pearl is a jewel of a dog! She is soft, fluffy, and loving. This petite senior likes to be cuddled and held. She loves to be with people and does well with other dogs too. She likes going for walks around the neighborhood and then curling up on the couch for a nap. She appears to be house-trained and is trustworthy when left home alone.
Carson is an amazingly sweet cat who has had some bad luck, but things are definitely looking up for him now. He suffered from a condition that left his gums painful and inflamed. Believe it or not, the veterinary solution to the condition is removing all the teeth! Carson has had the surgery, is feeling much much better, and has bounced back really well. He doesn’t require any special dental care now – and just think how much his new family will save on annual dental cleanings!
Carson has the softest fur and the gentlest manner. He is bit shy, but given a calm space and a little patience, he will turn on the charm and purr up a storm. A gentle presence who keeps a pretty low profile during the day, he is perfectly happy to sleep in a sunny window bird-watching or to nap under the bed. Come evening, after he has spent the day guarding your home from those pesky birds, he definitely enjoys hanging out with you when you come home from work Carson has a heart murmur which needs periodic monitoring, but does not require medication at this time. If you want an adorable, quiet companion, you have to meet Carson – he is waiting to share his charms with you! To meet Carson, please contact Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation by emailing: [email protected]
