However the SoJu Martini also intrigues me. Anyone stop by Bom yet? What’s the early word on the chicken?
Given the weather and slick sidewalks, let’s enjoy a little Safety Dance this week:

From an email:
“Dear friends: it’s getting cold out there and the Grand Duchess is preparing to go into a brief hibernation. Over the next few months we will be scaling down our operations and closing on Sundays, as we finish the pop up phase of our business and prepare to renovate. In the Spring, we will reemerge with a bigger bar, second bathroom and some cool new banquettes and booths. The vibe will remain the same. The movie nights, open mic comedy and Rock ‘n’ Roll DJs will will be back, bigger and badder than ever. It has been a truly great soft launch so far and we want to thank all of our customers for being so awesome. Please keep an eye out for some special, one-time offers between now and the renovation — and thanks again for your support! Cheers!
If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood.

Thanks to Dan Winston for letting us know:
“Thought folks might like to know, the Whitelaw Market at 13th and T is open again, under new management. Great news for U Street/Shaw! They are wondering what to stock to best serve the area.”

Below is the ad and he had a follow up e-mail. I guess the learning point here is generally if it is too good to be true, its too good to be true. At one point he had even linked the person’s facebook page for me. What lead me to research was the fact that he was using an @aol.com email address, I guess a pretty obvious give away.
Any way that you can spread the word to get people to avoid this would be appreciated.
I e-mailed the real Barak Sky. He has a g-mail and this guy is using an aol account (who uses AOL anymore).”
