Thanks to Trav for the heads up: “All boxed up. Doors locked with all the signs off.” Filson’s website says:
“This spring, we’ll be moving into our new home in the Shinola Building (14th and R St, NW). Our new space will be twice the size so we’ll have more room to better serve our customers.
Our last day of business at the current location will be Sunday, December 24. In the meantime, you can shop Filson.com for your outdoor needs, and as always, shipping is free on all orders.”
Filson first came to Logan Circle in 2015 when sister store, Shinola, moved to 14th and R. Updates when we learn what becomes of this space.

“seems like the shay might be having trouble renting units….”
I mean I guess the signage worked in a way but at what cost? At what cost?!?!?!?!?
Thanks to Damon for sending above from Franklin Square. And thanks to Kevin for sending a closer shot also from Franklin Square.
If you spot a hawk or any other bird of prey or any interesting wildlife around town, lunching or otherwise, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected] and I’ll add it to the queue. Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.
Thanks to Grant for sending this interesting guy from 8th and G Street, NE:
“Evidently it is a Ford Falcon Van that has been retrofitted with tiny windows. Check out Dave Grohl’s restored van.”

“Gator is 15 pound chihuahua basenji mix with fox like coloring and features. He was wearing a bow tie and shirt for NYE. He is cautious around new people but extremely friendly after he warms up.
We have an update. He was seen this morning at benning road where the bridge starts over the anacostia at the north east edge of the rfk parking lot. He’s likely in the woods on the river bank.
Please call Mark at 301-254-0599 with any info.”
