If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“This is Beau! He is a sweet little terrier or schnauzer mix. He is 5 years old. He is house trained and does not mark. He is about 16 lbs. He will be neutered in a few days and is up to date on all vaccinations. He is a sweet little guy who loves human attention. He is living in his rescue house with all sizes of other dogs, visiting grandchildren and men and women and does great with everybody. He would love to be a companion dog and just wants a lap and human attention. He is a very sweet, good natured boy with medium energy, and a little on the submissive side.

You can find out more about him by visiting our website and sending a message if you are interested!! www.grayfaceacres.org”

“Duchess is friendly and playful, with a medium energy level. She is a longtime resident of McPaw who really deserves a shot at a forever home. She adores everyone she meets, and it’s hard for anyone not to immediately fall in love with her. Duchess loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. She loves being around people and is a total wannabe lap dog. The shelter staff and volunteers love her – they think she is about 5 years old. Meet Duchess at McPaw, 4315 Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood.”

“Dear PoPville,

Wondering if you have heard anything about the Fort Reno concert series? The website hasn’t been updated in a while and just says they are still looking for funding…Thanks!”

We haven’t met our fundraising goal for this year but I wanted to go ahead and get the submission window open. Please continue to spread the word about donating to the concert series – you can donate here.

Ed. Note: Last year the series kicked off July 7th so there’s still hope.

“Dear PoPville,

Found this model of bike in front of a vacant house down the street from us in Adams Morgan. It had a flat tire and was unsecured – we assumed it might have been stolen, then dumped after it got the flat.

We’ve posted it to a number of bicycle-related groups with no luck. Before turning it into the MPD, we wanted to try to find the owner here. We’re both bicyclists and know how much it sucks to have your bike stolen – we would love to reunite this bike with its person! (more…)

Thanks to all who emailed and tweeted us. Samantha writes:

“I am in the Target in Columbia Heights right now and they are selling NO food or drink. Not even cat food. I asked am employee what it was, she didn’t seem to know and gave the very vague “it’s a license issue”, she thought maybe it would be back up in a week.”

Tina tells us:

“Columbia heights target isn’t selling food. Said won’t till the weekend because of an incident?”
