Capo Italian Deli Opens Beneath Takoda in Shaw Wednesday May 31st!!

715 Florida Ave, NW

From a press release:

“A&B Hospitality, the team behind Brickside Food + Drink, is pleased to announce the opening of Capo Italian Deli (715 Florida Avenue NW) on Wednesday, May 2431st. To celebrate the grand opening of Capo, the deli will offer half priced subs on opening day from 11 am to 1pm. Reminiscent of the old school, traditional Italian delis found in major metropolitans, Capo will offer an array of authentic favorites sure to satisfy every taste.

Brian Vasile, part owner of Capo is thrilled to be in the Shaw neighborhood, “We are excited to be part of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city and hope to contribute in continuing the great reputation of Shaw as a food destination.”

Guests can choose to either build their own unique salads or sandwiches utilizing fresh ingredients and Boar’s Head quality meats, or order from a menu of inspired options. Hot sub options include the traditional homemade meatball parmigiana, Italian sausage and peppers, and chicken parmesan.

Meat lovers will rejoice at Capo’s in-house cooked roast beef, served cold with a choice of toppings or warm with marinara sauce, fresh garlic, onions, Romano cheese and melted mozzarella. Cold sub options include the Italian combo with salami, hot cooked capicola, and provolone, pastrami seasoned turkey breast, and the homemade tunsa salad. Capo’s homemade Italian dressing can be added to any sandwich option and will also be available for purchase by the bottle. Cold cuts are available by the pound and sliced to order.

Those looking for something heartier can order one of the Italian dish options including chicken parmigiana, meat and cheese lasagna, baked ziti and cavatelli pasta with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe and sundried tomatoes. Veggie lovers need to look no further than the eggplant parm, eggplant rollatini, ricotta stuffed shells, or penne with broccoli sautéed in garlic and oil.

Choose from an array of Italian style sides including tri-color pasta salad, broccoli rabe, and artichoke hearts lightly dressed with balsamic and olive oil, fresh garlic and seasonings. Those with a sweet tooth will love Capo’s homemade cannoli’s and variety of gelato flavors.”
