“I want to open up by saying I’m very sorry to the owner of the white Honda sedan that I hit between 15th and 16th. I was frazzled and had my spouse come by to help me; he left a note, but it was left on the wrong car. After realizing this walking by later, when the damaged car was gone and the note was still there, we called DC police to self-report the incident, and they said there was nothing we can do.
However, we want to do the right thing – so if it was your car, please reach out. We’d very much like to make things right.”
