    That hurts my eyes.

  • I’ve no desire to live in a jewel box, but I would give up my firstborn child as trade for this house.

    • Los

Lol… I was about to post the exact same comment. Now, I’ll offer my left testicle instead

    • Idontgetit

Hmm…but I thought Justin, you didn’t want to have children?

      • I don’t, which makes it all the more easier to trade them away.

      • textdoc

        LOL! Good point. :)

    • I Dont Get It

So Los is actually making the greater sacrifice. ;-)

  • Bloomy

ok, so i actually think the 80s got some things right, e.g., matching furniture/wallpaper/blinds.

    • Cassie

That room also has a bookcase door from the other room!

  • rindupont

I hope whoever buys that does a full gut job on the decor.

    • A. Nony Mouse

Kitchen looks recently redone though so really it’s just surface stuff that needs work. Won’t cost that much to change out wallpaper and repaint. If someone is dropping $6 mil on a house I’m sure they can afford someone to repaint the interior.

“Not traded in 30 years” = not redecorated in 30 years.

Anyone remember Laura Ashley? (anyone remember 1986?)

    • ET

O yes. I had LA bedding for college (I didn’t particularly care what I used and it was second hand)

  • Idontgetit

I’m not bothering to look at the interior. YES I WANT THIS!!!!!

    • Seriously – the interior can be redone – the property is spectacular!!

  • anonymous

Just as I was beginning to think DC has no trophy properties.

    • Anon

Haha – what?!? You can’t be serious mate.

  • textdoc

Some of the photos make my eyes hurt — like the room where the upholstery, wallpaper, and curtain valance all have the exact same pattern — but I imagine this would be a very nice house to have and redecorate to one’s own taste.

    “Kennedy Admin presidential guest house”

This definitely means it was the Kennedy sexpad, right?

  • DM

Does that sunroom remind anyone else of the recently-demolished Courthouse Wendy’s?

    • anonymous

Haha..did they knocked that thing down in one day? I drive by there everyday on way to city and only yesterday that I notixced it was reduced to a pile of rubble.

  • Anonamom

I’m beginning to think that rich people really have zero taste.

  • distritera

I’ve always loved this little nook of Kalorama. The Spanish steps are a really cool hidden gem. If I had the money I’d grab this up, 80s decor and all!

  • SP

Who says taste has to change with the times? I am sure plenty of millennials (myself included) will have barn door partitions in older age!

    • AMDCer

Yup – my parents still have all the mid-century modern stuff that they bought when they first got married – they’re finally hip again!

  • neighbor

This place was clearly decorated in the 80s and not changed since then, but if I had the money I would totally buy the house because all that can be fixed and it’s a gorgeous location.

  • The Dude

Too small… I couldn’t even fit a marching band in that solarium!
