That backyard/deck situation is confusing the hell out of me. Plus I’m not sure why they are advertising that both of the bathrooms in the house are en suite as if that’s a good thing. Great location, though. I think it’s priced a little high, but I’ve been surprised before.

Agreed – I had to look at it several times to get it. If I had a dog, I would love that backyard though – private green space for them to poop. However since you’re sharing it with your neighbors you both either need to be meticulous with the poop bags or only use it for outdoor activities like a grill. Aside from that, I can get 2 bdrm in a nicer neighborhood for the same price. Seems high.

I personally like the idea of both bathrooms being en suite. I think nice to have an extra master-type bedroom for guests. If you need a roommate, I think you’d get more for having an en suite bathroom to offer. Not to mention you could AirBnB it easier with that.

You’re thinking of guests who stay overnight; for that scenario an en suite would be convenient. But for every other guest who ever comes into your house, they’d have to walk through a bedroom to get to a bathroom. That’s inconvenient as all get out, and forget about privacy. I also think it’s odd to assume that a $700k two bedroom condo would be purchased by someone reserving one of the bedrooms for out-of-town guests. The more realistic scenario is that both rooms would be spoken for.

I agree on airbnb, but I’d rather not have all houseguests going into my room to use the bathroom. I don’t think the en suite vs private but outside the room is a huge difference. I could be wrong though.

I know people who borrow big for a condo and get a roommate, but it’s probably not too common. I have a spare bedroom and bathroom, no en suite. I would have no issue with guests (non-overnight) going thru my spare bedroom to use the bathroom. I also have no issue with guests going thru my bedroom to use my bathroom but I keep my bedroom in showroom condition.
