Patrick Bateman would love this place.

“There is a moment of sheer panic when I realize that Paul’s apartment overlooks the park… and is obviously more expensive than mine”

      • accendo

        Hahaha, awesome!

I do not understand this trend of homes that look and feel like modern offices (think One Medical)

    • Anonymous

Perhaps the offices look and feel like modern homes. Or perhaps people, like me, just like a modern aesthetic.

      • HaileUnlikely

To each his/her own, I guess. Feels like I’m on the deck of the Starship Enterprise or something.

        • Anonymous

Fair enough. When I go in a super traditional home (one with original accents/woodwork/whatever), I kind of want to gag, so I know the feeling.

      • womp

        i looooove this house!

    • Office? Autopsy room was my first thought for that kitchen!

      • Mark

Animal hospital. Your cats will hate you.

  • anonymous

Me likes. I’m wondering how they got that one long window at top along the party wall approved.

    • kck

The DCRA plan reviewer and inspectors made a mistake OR its a fire rated window.

  • Kabir

Who / which firm did the renovation work?

    • Phil

WO Design….this place is on my block

      • MPLady

WOD is a developer–not the architect and not the general contractor. MSB Design/Build was the general contractor for their first renovation in Petworth and it would be nice to know the architect and general contractor for this house.

  • Anonomnom

It is not my style personally, but MAN is it interesting to see! I won’t knock it at all, I am sure someone will absolutely fall in love with this.

While I have zero desire to purchase this particular unit (too narrow), I like what they did with the space and I really like the location.

  • Anonymous

Love it. This is all the house I really need although I would have to have a storage unit with all of my other junk to keep it this uncluttered.

  • Ally

I wouldn’t turn this down. Beautiful.

  • mmm

This house is the embodiment of the Shaw real estate boom referenced in the chart earlier today. Sold a year ago for $850k as a 3BR.

    • mmm

Whoa. Weird comment cut off. Sold a year ago for less than $400k as a 2BR, 1ba. Now likely to sell for more than $850k as a 3BR.

      • matt

It is 2x as big as the old house and the builder has been working on the project for 14 months.

        • mmm

Not disagreeing. Just commenting that one reason that prices are going up is due to fundamental changes in the housing stock.

          • Anonymous

Except that the chart differentiated between 2BRs and 3BRs. Besides, the real measure is price per square foot.

  • matt

They doubled the size of the prior house on the site.

  • Oh great, WOD is back, I had thought they were lost!
