  • I love this home! I have no idea whether it’s a good deal or not, but it sure is sweet.

  • HaileUnlikely

I don’t often say this in regards to anything I see on here, but I love this house. In relation to other stuff in Columbia Heights, this strikes me as a solid deal. It is my opinion that there exists nothing resembling a “good deal” anywhere in Columbia Heights, but this is easily among the best deals in this area.

Wow.. Very Nice Home. Beautiful Garden as well

I sure would like to see the pictures. What’s up with the real estate site, PoP? I’d say at least half the time, maybe more, the page loads everything but the pictures. Been going on forever. Refreshing doesn’t help.

    • womp

if you’re at the office, it could be the web filter or proxy preventing the images from loading. it is the case for me and i (shhhh don’t tell) turn off the proxy and refresh and it’s usually fine.

I can’t usually see them in chrome, but if I copy the link to another browser they always work.

        • wdc

Yes, works fine in Firefox. Sure wish it worked in Chrome, though.
ANYWAY. Lovely. If I ever sell my place, I’m looking up that photographer. Really excellent work there.
And that back yard! If I wanted to give up my parking space, I’d want exactly what they have. (Except for the mosquito pool.)

          • I Dont Get It

            Fish eat the mosquitoes.

I love this house, which is rare that I can say that because so often houses are stripped of their original character. This house has a great combination of original details and updates that are tasteful but not completely bland. Also, kudos for not having an open concept!

    • I Dont Get It

      I totally agree!

It’s so close to Meridian Pint, KBC, and the other 11th street restaurants. I love the house and it’s huge. I think this will sell for well over list price. The one next to it sold in August for 951k and it was listed for 849k!

    • JS

Yeah, this house will go substantially over list. This is a bidding war-initiating price.

  • Natedogg

Damn. IMO, this is a much more beautiful home that even the top of the line remodels in the area. The biggest difference I think is that the renovations were done with the aim of creating a spectacular space in which to live, rather than for someone to make as much money as quickly as possible… I love the original mill-work. I’d guess this goes well over asking.

I love everything about this house. My house aspires to be this house.

My house also aspires to be this house. :)

  • I feel like it’s too good of a deal. Either it will go for well over asking or there’s something seriously wrong that’s not coming out.

  • Anony

Beautiful home, always admired this place from the outside. Looks like the inside doesn’t disappoint either. Also in a great location!

  • textdoc

I really like this house and suspect it will go over asking.
I dig the original woodwork, the preserved arches between rooms, the nice plain-ness of the tiling… pretty much everything.
The only things I don’t like are the exposed brick, the attic that’s been converted into a high ceiling for the master bedroom, and the lack of a railing on the stairs down to the basement.

  • Pixie

I love this. This is the kind of house I’d love to own one day. Sigh.

  • LedroitTigah

Great house! The only downside I reckon is that it has only 2.5 baths – I think that theres a full bath in the basement, and a half bath on main level, which means only 1 full bath on the top level. Not a huge demerit, in my book, but something to consider if youre a big family.

  • jd

This is easily my favorite house (under a million) from GDoN in the year I’ve been following this blog. No bowling alley living room, look at that wooden bannister and the frame work around the doors. This is so much my taste and style.

  • Lane

I agree with everyone else, this house looks fantastic. And I like that they thought ahead and took exterior photos in summer. Everything looks better with leaves on the trees.

  • On Capital Heels

    Lovely home!!!!

  • Blinky

I have seen this advertised as a rental unit on Trulia and Craigslist. I knew it had to be a scam, but here it is, a home for sale, that the scammers are using the images for to try to pawn it off as a rental and rip someone off in the form of a rental deposit, or even worse, credit check to steal personal info. The owners should be made aware of this.
