Small contractor to install back door?

“We are looking for someone to help with a small project. We are looking to move the back door in our kitchen and turn it into a double french door. Having problems finding someone because this is a small project, and not an entire kitchen renovation. It would be great to find someone reputable who can do good work and handle the associated permit process.

Any good recommendations for contractors that do small jobs?”

Thumbtack (the app) is your friend. Just put it on there and you’ll get tons of offers. Just make sure to read their reviews and go with someone that has a decent amount of reviews.

Kemberling Construction tomkemberling at gmail dot com Is great for projects like this. We’ve used him for a number of small and medium projects, happy with price and quality

I have a guy I use for all of my small projects like that. He recently became a full time contractor. He is pretty affordable. I can send you his info if you are interested

“Small contractor” — Is anyone else picturing Frodo showing up in a hardhat and toolbelt?

    No? Just me?

I thought the same thing…or that maybe they were looking for a lesser contractor ;-)

Sharp Painter is a small, family-run business that recently renovated our small kitchen. They’re fantastic. Ethical, hard-working guys with competitive prices. They don’t have a website, but you can find them on Facebook. Very highly recommended. (They run out of Manassas but do jobs all over the DMV area–we live in Columbia Heights.)

We we’re thinking about doing something similar but I have no idea how much it should cost. Any idea here? Since it involves entirely reframing the door and potentially adjacent windows I was thinking it would potentially be a lot.

MRZ Interior Design and Construction (http://www.rezazahmati.com/)

Reza just did a wonderful job replacing/installing a new door in my condo last weekend. He was extremely professional, competent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend him!

I used Eli Amitay for a small project, based on recommendations from Popville, and was extremely happy.
