Many of the large historic brownstones in Dupont have been subdivided into condo or rental units, so this intact four level house complete with English basement is a nice find. Actually, in addition to this fee simple home, the 1700 block of Q St NW saw one other settled sale at $1,625,000. and there is one pending sale that was listed at $2,895,000. There is currently one active fee simple home on the block recently listed at $2,999,000.
Looking back in time, the first time a home on this block sold at seven figures was back in 2001, right around when Whole Foods established its P Street location a few blocks away. As late as 2003, it was still possible to acquire one of these beauties in the $800,000.-$900,000. range. Our multiple listing system reports back as far as the mid-1990’s. In the mid-late 1990’s, prices for houses on this block were under $400,000.
The listing agent was Boucie Addison of Washington Fine Properties, LLC. Kelly Kelley of Keller Williams Capital Properties, (per disclosure above, the same brokerage affiliation as the writer of this post), represented the buyer in this transaction.
