That will be gone by the end of the day above asking price.

Ah that is not the building I was thinking about although it looks similar. I was thinking it was the building further south on 16th street around Meridian Hill Park that POP has listed a few years with the hanging plants from the balcony.

  • cMaryc

Great deal, as long as you take a close look at the Certificate of sale to see what the building’s planning…

    • textdoc

      What’s it planning?

      • cMaryc

…well, that’s what you want to check. They are obligated to let you know what upcoming financial plans are (E.g., painting all the porches lime green [plus cost estimate to building]; installation of gym & sauna [ditto]; renewing interior design of common areas [ditto]; etc).

        • bruno

Replacing the pipes… that happened in a bldg I was in once.

…really low railing on that balcony, no?

    • Nope

I was thinking the same thing!

      • Tim

Yeah, it’s harrowing. I had friends that wouldn’t step foot out there.

  • ET

That will go fast and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes for over asking.

  • Tim

Ahh, that’s my old apt! Definitely worth $320k. This is top-floor and the views are incredible.

Estate sale? Wonder what “as/is” means….maybe someone died in there? It’s a steal though…..

    • Tim

No. This was a rental. The owner was a wonderful person who passed away suddenly and not in the apt.

I was considering a huge 2BR (probably 1500 sq feet) top floor apartment in this place a few years ago for $2800/month. It was gorgeous. We ended up passing because it only had 1 full bath. Amazing building and views, the bus stops right out front.

  • Monroe

This is a beautiful building with lovely apartments. It should easily go quickly and over asking price.

  • tgee13

Can these real estate people please stop using the fish-eye lens? We get it- the place isn’t that big. But don’t distort the image by trying to stretch it out!

On a more positive note, this place looks pretty nice!

  • Alice

This is my old apt and it was absolutely beautiful! I still miss it. The balcony railings are low, but the views are gorgeous and the french doors/windows let in an enormous amount of light during the day. The hallway on the sixth floor also has skylights and great access to the roof deck (which is awesome on the fourth of july). The neighbors down the hall are also wonderful!!

    • sergio

Tim! Alice! I’m the next door neighbor, this apartment is wonderful. And the railings are low, but if you put some chairs out there to force people to sit it becomes totally manageable.

  • Sudden Debt

I lived in the bldg once myself. The balcony railing doesn’t curve like that and it’s not as low as it looks; however it is not the sturdiest railing out there. And Tim and Alice – is this the ’05’ tier?
