This house is located at 5149 Nebraska Avenue, Northwest. The listing says:

One block from restaurants and shopping.”

    I live right down the hill from this house.

    –3 parking spots? Wow. Use one and rent the other two out.
    –In the Murch/Deal/Wilson district (and it looks as if DC isn’t going through with the asinine lottery portions of the redistricting plan, so your kids will be assured of going to these schools).
    –Walkable enough to three Metro stations: Van Ness, Tenleytown or Friendship Heights. M4 bus is right at your door (tho it doesn’t run on weekends) and L2 is right up the street on Connecticut.
    –Like a two-minute walk to the commercial strip that includes Comet Ping-Pong and Little Red Fox.

    –Living directly on Nebraska isn’t exactly ideal, with all the traffic. It’s pretty noisy, especially as cars pick up speed down the hill (frankly, there should be a speed camera pretty much right where this house is; the city would make a mint). It’s actually quieter during rush hour when the traffic moves slower.
    –Not much of a yard here. This will bother some people more than others.

    I’m guessing it does for asking, at the very least. Sub-$800K inventory in Chevy Chase is miniscule.

      Why would anyone pay for parking in this ‘hood? There’s free parking everywhere. I doubt you could get much more than $75/month for the spot, if that.

        Agreed, there’s plentiful parking around here, so you wouldn’t get much. Maybe someone with a nicer car who wants to keep it off the street, or needs to store a car because of extended time away? Someone who lives on Nebraska and doesn’t have parking, considering parking is prohibited on Nebraska during rush hour?

  • I wish the house were a bit bigger, but man do I love all that backyard space! It’s hard to tell what all was “renovated” with so few photos.

      Yeah- but why would they install the walkway dead smack center? waste of useable space to me.

    DEAL. Good price, nice interior, you won’t get a single detached house in this area for any cheaper than this.

    Exterior unattractive all brick would have looked better. Inside, meh. Busy street.

    Deal. I recently was in the market for a house just like this one (CCDC, sub-800k) and found that properties like this almost invariably sold within five days at some 5-10% over asking price. I doubt this one will be any different.
