Dear PoPville – Anyone Recognize this Person of Interest in connection with our Home Burglary?

“Dear PoPville,

I saw a package theft video on your blog and it reminded me to ask if you could post a video of the person who robbed our apartment on March 25th, 2014. At best, one of your readers might recognize him. At the very least, the video and information contained in my post could serve as a warning for people to be more cognizant of the burglary threat in the Dupont/U Street area.

I’ve included a link to surveillance video of the person who broke into our apartment on Swann Street NW on March 25th between 12:30pm and 1:15pm. He broke in through our front window and stole various electronics before departing on foot down an alley towards T ST NW (as seen in our second video feed). He came back two times over a 45 minute period. After his first run, he was gone for 5 minutes before returning for more stuff; after his second, he was gone for 10 minutes. On his second and third runs, he broke into the apartment building door. After his third run, he walked away with a 36 inch flat screen TV.

Because he left on foot and was gone for 5 and 10 minutes, I believe he was stashing the stolen goods in the area north of Swann St somewhere. If he had driven to site, he would likely have parked closer than a 5 or 10 minute walk as there is plenty of street parking during the day. And it probably would have taken him the same amount of time to come back for more. I’ve showed his picture around the area to some local business owners and a few of them recognized him as an occasional customer. MPD found his fingerprints and blood in the apartment. Evidently, he cut himself on something as he was entering the window.

If anyone recognizes him, please contact the MPD investigator at the contact info below:

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
