Only a three-car garage and only 13 baths? Total rip off when you can get a studio 1/2 the size of the Master bedroom for $300,000.

It’s absolutely stunning but not sure about the $16.8MM price tag. I guess the Georgetown address bumps it up.

It’s not worth a dollar more than 15.7 million

Is it just me or does this person not own a single book? Pretty library and so many built-in bookcases…what a waste. I would shoot Santa for that house.

Judging from the empty wine closet, empty rooms and empty closet. I assume its just “staging” props for a empty house. I bet nobody lives there.

  • I hate when I ask people to gather in Parlor 1 and they all wind up in Parlor 2 anyway!

Would who ever wrote the real estate listing please look up “Second Empire”? It refers to a very opulent and busy style which came to America from France’s Second Empire, which began in 1852. Think of the most over the top ‘Victorian’ building you can, and that is Second Empire. (The Old Executive Office Building, for example). An 1817 house in Georgetown is Federal period and style; just having dormer windows and a steep roof does not make it a Second Empire Mansard roof. There isn’t even anything in the interior of this house that is Second Empire, with the possible exception of a couple of the paintings, or at least, their frames.

When do real estate listings ever make sense? Just be grateful Tom Faison didn’t write this.

  • Now THIS is some great house porn! Rooms that are bigger than my condo, a sauna, a wine cellar, enough bedrooms to house the Duggars…that’s what I’m talkin’ about!

  • What no pool!? What are we? Heathens?

You know what, I’m not a big fan of that backsplash.

(this is a mandatory PoPville comment for GDON) :) Merry Christmas everyone.

Amazing. Even the artwork in this place is impressive. I am usually disgusted by the nouveau riche vomit that decorates these places, but this place is incredibly classy. My only complaint….if I’m paying 8 figures for a house I want something better than a $15.99 a/c vent in my second-empire entry foyer (see photo 8). But I guess I could live with it. :)
