Oh, wow. I love the traditional craftsman style houses, small rooms and all, but this…. That rear kitchen/family room is genius. I think I might have gasped.

And the backyard has a creek! That’s my #1 someday-house fantasy of all time!

And now I’m very, very sad that I chose a life of low-wage charitable toil, instead of getting an MBA and earning enough money to ever have a place like this.

I guess I should feel good that the listing for a $3 million property has non-embarrassing copy and especially good photography in a “well something makes sense in this market” kind of way.

  • Really fun, whimsical house while still retaining a lot of style and practicality. Looks like a great place to raise a family and host big holiday dinners.

    Absolutely gorgeous! Excellent house porn.

Excellent house porn indeed! I love that living room/dinning area/kitchen with the wall of photos! In fact, all I really want is that area, plus 2 or 3 modest sized bedrooms and the back yard. (oh, and a maybe 1 or 2 bathrooms). That would be absolutely plenty (who really needs a formal sitting room anyway?!)

  • This, sir, is some mighty fine house porn. Mighty fine, indeed.

    Wow. Good deal!

$2.9 MM and no parking. yay!

    Unghhhh. Want….

  • They’ll get asking, and that’s what it’s worth, but dayum…people pay a whoooole lotta money to pay in Cleveland and Woodley. We are those vilified downtown lawyers looking for a new house, and this kind of price tag isn’t even going to show up on our saved search.

I’m pretty sure, though not positive, that I toured this house a couple years ago, and it has no central air. Notice that some of the rooms have radiators and others have baseboard heaters, but you don’t see any soffits that would contain air ducts. If that’s right, $3 mill. is a lot to pay to swelter for half the year. Beautiful house though.

Their “entertainment kitchen,” the smallest of the 3 kitchens, has more counterspace and storage than my one and only kitchen. :(

  • It’s also right across the street from this school:

My child attends, so I’m biased, but I think it’s one of the better public schools in the city. About 2/3 of the students are from the neighborhood, I think.

This is exactly the kind of house I imagine when I think of Cleveland Park.
