Props to the Cops – Arrests in Recent Robberies

First District

Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at approximately 9:32 pm, a complainant reports that he was in the 700 block of 7th Street NW, when he was approached by a subject who took his wallet from his pocket. A juvenile male was arrested for Robbery (Pickpocket).

Third District

Saturday, December 8, 2012, at approximately 9:30 pm, two complainants were in the 1000 block of U Street, NW, when two suspects approached them and announced a robbery. Taken was an iPhone. An adult male and a juvenile male were arrested for Robbery (Force and Violence).

Monday, December 10, 2012 at approximately 11:02 pm, a complainant reports that while he was in the 2600 block of 14th Street NW, he was approached from behind by a suspect who took his wallet from his pocket and fled. An adult male was arrested for Robbery (Pickpocket).

Monday, December 10, 2012 at approximately 10:46 pm, a complainant reports that while he was in the 1400 block of W Street NW, a subject attempted to snatch his wallet. An adult male was arrested for Attempt Robbery (Snatch).

· Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at approximately 7:52 pm, two suspects entered a taxi cab and requested to be driven to the 1800 block of Harvard Street NW. Once they arrived at the location, one suspect assaulted the driver while the other suspect displayed a knife. The suspects then stole US currency and an iPhone. An adult male was arrested and charged with Robbery while Armed (Knife). The second suspect made good his escape and is described as and black a male, approximately 5’9” in height, weighing approximately 150lbs, last seen wearing all dark clothing.

Fifth District

Friday, December 7, 2012, at approximately 4:43 pm, a complainant reports that he was walking in the 500 block of 21st Street NE, when he was approached by five suspects. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and announced a robbery. Taken was a wallet containing US currency and other items. A juvenile male was arrested for Robbery while Armed (Gun). One of the other suspects who made good his escape was described as a black male, 15-16 years-old, 6-feet tall, twist hairstyle, wearing a green jacket, and tan pants.

Monday, December 10, 2012, at approximately 2:50 pm, a complainant was in the 2100 block of Varnum Street, NE when a suspect announced a robbery and attempted to take her phone. The complainant fled. An adult male was arrested for Attempt Robbery (Fear).
