    That kitchen is atrocious.

And it could use an island.

I think I’d get dizzy every time I walked in there. It’s straight out of Alice in Wonderland.

Those look like Ikea cabinet fronts: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10200904/

You could change them all out for about a grand but still, terrible taste. The color choice makes me question the mental health of the previous occupants as well as the physical state of the rest of the house.

The insides of the drawers are Ikea too, so I bet the cabinet frames are just Ikea MDF, and won’t last more than 10 years. I’m surprised they have a $20K kitchen in a $1.2 million house.

    • Holy Lime Green Cabinets Batman!!!

  • Rich

At that price, the seller needs to get rid of that awful green in the kitchen.

    • Anonymous

All things considered that’s a good price for the location. Cabinet fronts can be changed.

  • I was wondering why PoP was asking specifically about the kitchen… then made it to that point in the photo tour. Dear God in heaven!! What were they thinking??

The worst thing is that the cabinets look new, and presumably somebody spent good money to achieve that terrible look.

At least if they’re IKEA cabinet fronts, the buyer would only have to buy new cabinet doors in a non-insane color, rather than have to redo the entire kitchen.

I would like the green if there were small pops of it (not that it would have been a smart choice for selling at any rate). I think that’s what the owners were going for, but the copious amount of cabinetry makes the color dominate the room. A smaller floor tile would have made the room look less insane also.

      • JJ

Yes, it’s not just the cabinets. That floor makes the kitchen even worse.

  • maria

I won’t lie, I kinda love the kitchen. But i also had a whole wall in my living room painted almost that exact color.

    • Rebecca

I am glad I am not the only one – I like it.

    • Rebecca

Though I agree it needs an island.

  • I kinda like the kitchen too, but think it will look VERY DATED in a very short time. I like checkerboard floor on a diagonal because it opens up the room.

I think it’s a shame they totally eff’d up the main floor by ripping out the walls. An open floor plan in this situation, ie. in a wide rowhouse, makes no sense and is atrocious.

However, given its location and size, I think this is a remarkably good deal.

  • For 1.2 million they could at least replace the shutter missing on the front.

    • +1 to that … that is the first thing that I noticed.

Do trains still honk (“whistle”) as they enter and exit the tunnel, 50 feet away?
