Homicide in Trinidad, Shooting in Petworth Late Wed. Night

“Wednesday night just before midnight, Fifth District officers were called to the 1000 block of 16th St., NE, for a man unconscious in the alley. When they arrived they found a 36 year old who had was suffering trauma to the body.

The man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. This case is being investigated as a homicide by the MPD.

“At approximately 0136 hours, MPD received a call for sounds of gunshots in the 4800 block of Georgia Ave., NW. No victim or witnesses could be located. However, shell casings were recovered.

Approximately 1 hour later, a victim was located in a hospital outside of DC. The victim sustained a gunshot that grazed the right leg. The victim was treated by doctors and released. The victim states was approached on the sidewalk from behind and robbed. When the victim fled, the suspect fired rounds at the victim striking the victim in the leg.

There is no usable lookout.”
