I’m gonna be honest – I didn’t even realize we had a St. Patrick’s parade. Anyone ever go? And while we’re on the topic – anyone have a favorite bar to go to on St. Patrick’s Day?

  • That’s who the BF works for…..

I’ve been before. The combination of not having it on the actual day plus bad/cold weather plus having it on the Mall makes it a fairly ill-attended parade. I think Dominque Dawes was the grand marshall one year.

The Alexandria parade is usually more fun as it’s on King Street. Murphy’s is always packed that entire day.

All the parades on King Street are usually great, with the added bonus that those annoying “What’s Alexandria? I don’t EVER go out to the suburbs” people are nowhere to be found.

+1, best thing I ever did was phase those people out of my life. Rave: turns out now having snobs in one’s life is a major plus 🙂

The Dubliner!! its on the hill near union station. I go every year, loads of irish staff, 3 or 4 live irish bands, it’s an institution. Also Ted Kennedys old watering hole.

Speaker O’Neill was also often found there.
