    I too love it!

    into it

  • Under contract.

    Love it!

  • The outside actually looks a lot nicer up close. As long as you don’t mind living on an alley way that drunk folks make their way down late at night and with a car repair/body shop tucked around the corner with the associated noises of work during the day, then it’s probably a pretty nice buy

      you have great eyesight.

Amazing – and basically connects via alley to Biergarten Haus. Shame it’s gotten a bit stabby around there (again).

Those photos are terrible. It’s like they deliberately tried to make it look as small, dark, and sketchy as possible.

      • That’s What She

        hahaha :D

actually, that’s not what she said at all. i was there.

Wow! You weren’t kidding on the photos making the place look small, dark, and sketchy.

Want to love it, but hate it.

I’m not sure I’m ready to live in THAT alley yet. I love my hood, but walking one block off of H ST in either direction can still be dicey.

I think it had potential. Imagine if the owners painted it a lighter color and had some beautiful flower boxes all along the railing. Surely something could be done about those doors as well.

I watched this place change a lot over the last couple years from my back patio. It was decrepit for a long time and I doubt they’ve done enough to make the place livable.

  • Frenchie

Those pictures make the place look like the set for a serial killer movie. Is that a makeshift mattress on the floor in the garage? Is that where the victims are kept?

  • Hoodrat

Those photos are appalling, but the outside is adorable. This place clearly needs some work, but I think it could be lovely.

THIS is the way to afford a house in DC. It’s exactly what I did with my carriage house. Buy it cheap (I’d bet it’s under contract for under asking), do some basic renovations for $30k or under, and enjoy!

it’s a great plan. plus you get a fun unusual space. clearly not for everyone, all the better.
