1020 19th Street, NW

Thanks to a couple of readers for sending word. Retrospect Coffee and Tea opened up at 19th and L St, NW back in July 2013. Their phone has been disconnected but their website said:

“Retrospect Coffee and Tea is a European-style coffeehouse with rich international flavor and an appreciation for both the art and the science of making the world’s finest beverages. Located in downtown Washington D.C. at 19th and K NW, it offers traditional Italian espresso, cappuccino, lattes, French press, café au lait, Spanish cortado, Soviet coffee, Swiss café, Turkish and Vietnamese coffees. Additionally, Retrospect features black coffee specially prepared using the pour-over method – each cup is handmade using precision calibrated equipment and its preparation is perfectly measured and timed.

Retrospect also offers a wide variety of specialty teas including such exquisite brands as Oolong, Phoenix, Peony White, Kenya Black, Herbal Energizer and Holy Detox. All of our teas are crafted with the best possible all-natural ingredients. Retrospect also offers an authentic Masala Chai that highlights the complexity and depth of flavor of quality black tea as well as a meticulously crafted selection of Indian spices.

In addition to coffee and tea service, Retrospect offers a lighter food menu, which ranges from New York style bagels and simple yet hearty breakfast sandwiches to gourmet items such as European Salami and salmon gourmet sandwiches. Delicious pastries are also available.”

Updates when we learn who takes over the space.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
